Researchers are Making Progress in Learning More About the Science of Chronic Pain

New scientific information is providing insights into the causes of chronic pain and giving hope for future new treatments.

Although the new information does not yet provide solutions for chronic pain patients and their healthcare providers, it does provide more information about the biological source of chronic pain. The hope of researchers and pain patients is that these and other new developments will ultimately lead to new treatments. In the meantime, some chronic pain patients feel their experience is being affirmed with a biological basis for their pain.
